Food travels more than 1400 miles before it reaches our dinner plate, and the environmental pollution and weaking of local economies that results is unnecessary. In this region, we have a growing movement of innovative farmers finding ways to farm with the land while raising a healthy family. Be a local hero, support your local farms. Supporting local farms keeps our dollars in our local economies, keeps the need for fossil fuels down, builds our community's food security, protects the land and just makes good ol' fashion sense!

Pastured-raised and free-ranging meat,
dairy and eggs
Studies are finding that animals raised on green pastures with plenty of room to roam are healthier than factory-farmed grain-fed animals. We have lots of local sources for these products.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
This is also known as subscription farming where the consumer pays money to own a part of the farms harvest. In return they recieve a weekly box (usually enough for 2-4 people) over the course of the growing season, anywhere from 20-32 weeks. This is a great way to develop a relationship with a local farm, cut out the middle person, and receive a diversity of farm fresh produce. There are many different farms offering many different types of CSA's so be sure to read the descriptions below.
